On Wednesday, the 2nd of July, Central Solutions attended a Tipperary Green Business Network Event, ‘Water Management within a Catchment Area’, hosted by ABP Food Group in Cahir, Co. Tipperary. The day included a number of talks focused on how Irish organisations are working on incorporating sustainability initiatives into their business strategies and activities.

The day opened with a presentation from Barry O’Donovan, Resource Efficiency Manager at ABP Food Group. Barry outlined the company’s sustainability strategy, which has been built on a number of key targets and KPIs to be achieved by 2020, including:

  • Reduce Water Consumption by 50%

  • Reduce Carbon Footprint by 30%

  • Reduce electricity usage by 40%

Over recent years, we have worked closely with ABP Food Group to help them reach their water consumption targets and achieve international water stewardship leadership. On the day, we were delighted to get the opportunity to entrust Barry and John Durkan from ABP with the Sustainable Water Achievement Award, which we won as a joint entry at this year’s National Green Awards.
